AGR 2021 annual award ceremony is marked by inspiration, success and the importance of safety
The AGR 2021 annual awards were a brilliant and inspirational event that also carried a stark reminder of why health & safety is so important.
In attendance was Steve Rae, who is pictured above with our CEO Stuart Hunter & COO Cameron Taylor. Steve was a survivor of the Piper Alpha disaster, which is to date, the most fatal offshore accident in the energy industry’s history. Steve attended our event to discuss the importance of safety and promote effective practices – helping to ensure that the industry is a safer place to operate in going forward.
Steve is the Executive Director of ‘Step Change in Safety’ an organisation that was founded to increase safety in the offshore energy industry. Founded in 1997 by the oil and gas industry trade association, Step Change in Safety’s original goal was to reduce the UK offshore injury rate by 50%, an ambitious aim that was achieved by 2004. Together with Step Change in Safety, AGR is committed to safety in the energy industry, and above all else, we believe that all our candidates should get to come home from work.
Steve’s attendance at our event highlights the importance of the strong relationship AGR has with Step Change in Safety as we work together towards common goals of safety and training.
Our award ceremony is held every year to encourage success and promote a positive company culture of going above and beyond for all our clients. Our continued commitment to success comes in many forms such as increased growth financially and operationally, however, we also perceive our strong safety record in a dangerous industry as a powerful indicator of success.
